POSITION SUMMARY
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead ongoing improvement of internal proposal processes to better support business development and regional needs- detailing procedures to streamline & manage proposal searches, capture management, storyboarding, solutioning, development, delivery, archiving, and tracking
- Maintain visibility of Sales pipeline and drive pre-RFP proposal planning for key opportunities to include capture management, proposal strategy development and documentation, and theme development
- Lead and support proposal development process from RFP-received to proposal submission to contract award
- Drive and support finalist interview process to include development of finalist presentation in line with client agenda and proposal submission
- Maintain strong team management acumen- work cooperatively with the staff to further the development goals and work plan
- Ensure alignment of proposal staff activities against business plan goals
- Set internal targets, expectations, and resource reviews. Determine resource gaps and identify hiring needs. Facilitate internal staff coordination and communication
- Define internal Proposal Group success metrics that are to be clearly identified, communicated, and tracked
- Create and provide staff with tools, templates, & processes for effective proposal submission
- Establish rapport with regions and functional department to ensure smooth adoption of proposal process
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college in English, Marketing, or related discipline required
- 10-15 years proposal experience and/or 5-8 years proposal management experience
- Proposal experience in the field of Energy/Environment/Sustainability - Preferred
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
- Strong project management skills including planning, problem resolution, execution, and control experience
- Ability to analyze project risks and define mitigation strategies
- Extensive knowledge and hands-on experience with standard software products including Microsoft Sharepoint, Teams, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Visio, and Adobe Acrobat. Familiarity with Microsoft Project/SmartSheets, XaitPorter/Content Management software, and graphics programs desired
- Outstanding English writing, editing, and communication skills
- Self-starter with keen attention to details
- Strong organization and time management skills
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
- Possess a client service orientation
- Must be able to quickly learn and organize complex technical information
- Ability to communicate effectively on unfamiliar topics with experts
- Demonstrated ability to work and solve problems under pressure and meet multiple simultaneous deadlines consistently
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Ability to analyze project risks and define mitigation strategies
- Excellent analytical and research skills
- An interest in energy, sustainability, and science is preferred
- Involvement and accreditation in Association of Proposal Management Professionals desired
